For this special event in support of The Long Island Music Hall of Fame, Honorary LIMHF Education Board Members Carole Demas and Paula Janis will bring “Carole and Paula of TV’s Magic Garden” to the Cinema Arts Centre for two shows!

With Musical Director Ian Herman, Carole and Paula perform favorite songs and stories - AND for the first time ever, join moderator Tom Needham of the LIMHOF and The Sound of Film show on WUSB-FM in a lively discussion of the program’s fascinating history and ongoing popularity, including on-screen clips of original episodes, some not seen for almost 30 years! This is a rare performance sure to delight the whole family. Each show will be followed by a Q&A segment, meet and greet, photo ops, and autographs. DVD’s, CD’s, photos will be available for sale.

Carole and Paula’s beloved TV program The Magic Garden aired from 1972-1984 on WPIX and affiliated stations, becoming the most successful regional show in the history of children’s television. Today, grown-up fans flock to see their live performances, often bringing their own children to share in the music, stories and laughter they so fondly remember. Friends since their high school days in Brooklyn, Carole and Paula were NYC Schoolteachers, and sang for the NY Shakespeare Festival. Carole is known for her critically acclaimed creation of the leading role of Sandy in Broadway’s original “Grease” and has starred in thousands of theatre and television performances. Paula has traveled country wide, bringing folk music classics everywhere from Greenwich Village to classrooms to Carnegie Hall. Carole and Paula were recently named “Foxy Ladies of 1973” by VH-1’s I Love The 70s!
