2014 Long Island Biennial

The Cinema Arts Centre is pleased to present the third Long Island Biennial, a juried exhibition for filmmakers who live in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island. Each filmmaker may submit one film. The Cinema Arts Centre will present the jury’s selections at a special event in August 2012.

Cinema Arts Centre is collaborating with the The Heckscher Museum of Art, Huntington, New York. The Heckscher will accept paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, photographs and mixed media. Visit the Heckscher Museum of Art website for additional information about art submissions.

Filmmaker Eligibility: Filmmakers must live in Nassau and Suffolk counties.

Technical Requirements: The Entry must be in an mp4 or mov File format, 16:9 Aspect Ratio, 24 fps., submitted on a USB memory stick. (USB sticks cannot be returned).

• Ron Rudaitis, Filmmaker

Criteria for Adjudication: The Long Island Biennial is not a themed competition. Jurors will consider quality, creativity and professionalism.

Fees: The entry fee is $65.

Application Procedure: A Long Island Biennial application, a mp4 or mov File of the film on a USB Drive, a filmmaker’s resume and the $65 application fee must be received by May 30.

Permission: Entrants must grant permission to Cinema Arts Centre to display images of submitted films on its Website, Further, entrants whose work is selected for inclusion in the Long Island Biennial must grant the Cinema permission for image use in educational, promotional and media materials.

Awards: Cinema Audiences will have the opportunity to vote on a People’s Choice Award.
